Description

This has obviously something to do with , it's an ode to him because in this render I did what he had never done before. 1. Never rendered a fluid like that using 2 dielectric interactions(I'll get to that later) and 2. He never rendered a stikfa. And this is also a thanks to him because he was pretty much the reason why I started all of this and he pretty much teached me how to do all this(I have no clue how he found the time to do this in his busy busy life). I think he will be please with what I have done. Obviously the Stikfas had something to do with this. There is something about this render that could seem like an error to you but it is intended and there is a reason for it. I will give an E-hug to anyone who finds it out. It's probably going to be `DivineError who finds it out but we'll see.

Hint: There are PLENTY of hints in the image. Everything was thought thru perfectly.

As if making my CPU do complicated light calculations wasn't enough, I had to go and make it do accurate Fluid simulation(realflow 4), the particle simulation took about 24 hours to render out, the scene has exactly 427 563 particles which is a shit load for such small amount of liquid. The other interesting thing about this simulation was that I actually filled the martini with liquid and then I animated the glass break and then I made it simulate the fluids reaction to the break motion. I might render out a small animation of it later. The meshing was a whole other story. I had to do many tests to get the shrink wrap just right so it looks like a liquid with the same viscous properties as water. I am happy to say I achieved that. The other step was to set the glass interfaces write so the scene is physically accurate. It was pretty difficult to do since it mesh had 600 000 polys and I had to trace the exact imprint on the glass and get rid of the bottom. Any who I achieved that too, which to my knowledge was never done before (I'm saying that because `DivineError has done everything to glass but never done this to it, so I'm guessing I'm first). The final gather is pretty damn accurate even thought it didn't need to be that accurate. the L_glass was used to give everything a glossy feel and a candyish. It was pretty difficult to make the liquid look like a liquid and not jelly (which is often the case with people who use RF without shrink wrapping).

So if you've actually read the above you know all my secrets, enjoy this, since I'm never going to do a single tutorial on how to do liquid-glass-liquid interactions in Mentalray. The reason why I had never done this before was that 3Ds Max 8 handled my memory like a "dastopachelofti" (don't ask). But now 3Ds Max 9.0 with Mental Ray 3.5 is way too efficient I can use huge amounts of ploys with good speed and render with half the amount of final gather.

This is truly amazing first quality work. Wherever the error may be hidden... for me its perfect:nod:
